Palace On Rent
Third time lucky? Seems so with RajaNahar Singh Palace, which is all set to throw open its rooms for tourists onSeptember 27. Thanks to the Haryana Tourism Development Board, theirplan of converting Raja Nahar Singh Palace into a heritage hotel has finallycome through. This is actually its third attempt to revive thisheritage site. In 1996 and 1999 various cultural events and melas were organisedto revive the site but the project could not go ahead due to change in thepolitical regime. In its first phase four rooms with antiquefurniture will be thrown open to the tourists. The hotel will also haveprovision for bar and restaurant. A back-into-the-time ambience has also beencreated for the tourists for that living-in-palace experience.Talking to Faridabad Plus, S P Jain, divisional manager, HaryanaTourism, said, "The idea behind its conversion is to give tourists -- on theirway to Agra -- an exotic resting place."Though the hotel has highpotential to cater to the needs of the Faridabadis itself, its distance from thecity’s hub may work towrads its disadvantage. The palace has atotal of six rooms. The four rooms on the ground floor are being speciallycreated for tourists. The rates, too, will not be high approximately at Rs 800for a night''s stay, inform sources. For Faridabadis it''s bonanza atdoorstep.
